Upgrade time: Nikon D7000

Upgrade time: Nikon D7000

Shortly after picking up my new lens, I went on a hunt for a new camera. Originally I had my eyes set on a Nikon D90 but since Nikon recently announced the D7000, I went with that instead. The main reason that I wanted the D7000 was because of its low light performance which I found was the biggest issue with the entry level SLRs.

A much welcomed screen dedicated to displaying useful info

The back looks pretty much the same, small changes to the live view mode

Dual SD card slots is a huge plus

The best change on the camera, putting a button on the AF/M switch to control focus mode

There isn’t much difference in my opinion, the canon market has a much bigger presence. I just prefer the Nikon’s ergonomics.

What makes you choose this over say.. a Canon model, like the new 550d Rebel T2i. I’m just curious, I’m upgrading from my Olympus here pretty soon (because this 4/3 system is really a joke) and was looking at the Rebel T2i. Just curious why you are stickin’ to them Nikon’s. Great camera though.
