First thing you’ll be wondering, what on earth is a BMW M2? Well there isn’t one but that’s what shop owner Marc Norris has dubbed his client’s BMW 2002. What started off as a restoration quickly turned into a full on overhaul for the 70′s vehicle. Norris ends up taking components from an E30 BMW M3 and cramming them into the little car. Creating a stellar driving experience in an old school body.

Today marks our first release of the season and just happens to be the infamous date: 4/20. Our Smokin shirt was original part of our Series 2 update back in 2009 and we’ve waited a long time to reprint it. As some of you may or may not know, 4/20 is a date celebrated in cannabis culture usually with consumption of cannabis itself. The Smokin shirt celebrates two things made for smoking: tires and papers. Check out the shirt here.

I always say that cars aren’t like they used to but we all know that increased regulations and safety requirements have changed the ways manufactures build cars now. Motor Trend compares a project 370Z with its original predecessor the Datsun 240Z. Not just any 240Z though – this fine example sports a RB26 transplant front a Nissan Skyline.

Japanese magazine Motorhead teams up with Maiham Media, releasing a fresh video of Seija Ara ripping up Fuji Speedway in a Bugatti Veyron GrandSport. The video is a nice mix of shots of the vehicle and Seija explaining the driving experience of the $1,700,000 car.

Clean E30 BMW M3s are pretty damn hard to find now a days but what about M3 convertibles? Pretty much non-existent but someone found one up for grabs in New Jersey on Craigslist. Apparently 1 of only 5 in the United States, this rare example is listed for $60,000! View the listing here.

Continuing from the Morgan Aeromax video, XCAR takes a spin in the Morgan 3 Wheeler. A very unique car that delivers a raw and crazy driving experience with little effort. The 3 Wheeler is a modern interpretation of the cyclecar which Morgan built way back when. The driver appropriately compares the car to a Spitfire, it certainly looks like a 40′s era war plane.

Car manufactures have released cars with undered tuned power plants for years, cars like with factory turbo/supercharged engines are ideal subjects for tuning upgrades. Chris Harris takes a used S4 and performs a simple software upgrade to see how it compares with the Audi RS4.

Surprisingly this is the first time I’ve heard about this movie! Rush is an upcoming movie about the 1976 Formula One season and the rivalry between drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda. After a crash at the Nurburgring, Niki returns to square of against James Hunt at Fuji Circuit in Japan. The movie will be released on September 20th of this year and features Chris Hemsworth from Marvel’s Thor.

XCAR visits the Exciting Car Showdown a show created out of necessity. After years of growth the Tokyo Auto Salon has grown in to a very large event with lots of press cars and show cars. Smaller shops often can’t afford the expensive fees so they aren’t able to bring their tuned cars. That’s where the Exciting Car Showdown comes in, a show where the cars are the only focus, no show girls.
