Shortly after picking up my new lens, I went on a hunt for a new camera. Originally I had my eyes set on a Nikon D90 but since Nikon recently announced the D7000, I went with that instead. The main reason that I wanted the D7000 was because of its low light performance which I [...]

It’s hard to imagine that a little over a year ago I picked up a DSLR camera for my business, shortly after picking up the camera I ended up shooting tons of cars for another company. Photography is a tough gig that relies both on expertise and expensive equipment. Even though I picked up a Nikon 35mm 1.8f awhile ago, the lens wasn’t very practical nor was it that great (what do you expect for under $200). In search for some better glass, I had my sights set on a 24-70mm 2.8f lens. Deciding whether I should go with a cheaper third party lens or an official lens would be my dilemma for the next couple of weeks.

I urge everyone who can help, donate your money on the Red Cross website instead of buying a shirt from me. I’m serious. As everyone has heard a very large earthquake hit Japan on March 11, it’s hard to imagine the scale of disaster – towns are flooded, coastal lines are battered and supplies are heavily strained. The Boston Post has updated its Big Picture section with pictures of the earthquake. View them here. If you can, please donate!

Since I also play games on the same monitor I decided to invest in some decent speakers. After searching for weeks, I decided to go for the Harman Kardon Soundsticks, the problem was that no one was stocking the revised version of the speakers. Well after asking the genius at the local Apple store to check the back, I’m now a happy owner of some unique speakers. More after the jump.

If your a fan of Mercedes vehicles then your more then likely to know about the 300SL, a powerful grand touring car that was known for it’s iconic gull wing doors. After ceasing production, Mercedes never really created a spiritual successor to the 300SL until recently, lucky me I was in the right spot at the right time. Pictures after the jump.

It originally started as a champagne coloured car, but slowly it was modified with a Hamann lip and dropped on 22″ rims. This car had always been one of our focal pieces at the shop, it had most of our products installed on it and it was an eye catcher. The biggest change is when we wrapped it in flat black vinyl, the changes were jaw dropping. Instead of a tame luxury coupe with big wheels, it transformed into a menacing angel eyed coupe with big wheels. This car definitely put Garage Works on the map, but unfortunately it was time to let go – the owner has put it up for sale on Avant Garde Motorsports. Luckily I was commissioned to take the photos used on Avant Garde.

The producer asked if we could supply an exotic car for one of the wrestlers entrance for the upcoming Tuesday, a strange request but I looked into it further. After some back and fourth we arranged a SLR for WWE and delivered the car to the show, which had its perks. Not only did we get to go back stage before the show, we had lunch with many of the wrestlers and divas! Pictures after the jump.

The 599 is Ferrari’s flag ship gran turismo sports car that replaced the 575 M and is powered by the same V12 in the Ferrai Enzo. Can’t wait to have a full photo shoot with this beast.

This car was an absolute pleasure to shoot, the lighting was just right – casting a nice horizon. It was very difficult to shoot the car since the wheels were black and had so much dish, most of the wheel highlights were done in post production. Pictures after the jump.
