Being the only major manufacture to use the wankel engine in its' cars, Mazda has stayed close to the classic sports car formula for each generation of the RX-7. While not very popular at first, mostly due to familiarity with the wankel engine, the RX-7 proved its worth with its light weight and potent power. Each succeeding model has gained more and more attention and praise from car enthusiasts.
