Hand-engraved Honda Civic
8 Share This

Forget sharpie cars and spray painted cars, check out this amazing hand-engraved Honda Civic by Shawn Lisjack. Spending an estimated 5000 hours on the car, Shawn used a Dremel and engraved the entire body of a 1992 Honda Civic. The exterior wasn’t the only area that received engraving, the valve cover also received the detailed treatment as well.

Artsy car hoods – Construct & Comply

Mixing art and cars is usually a no-no but I’ve been a fan of Death Spray Custom for a long time. He’s able to combine the two quite well in several of his art projects. DSC recently held a small show showcasing various hoods that painted in eye-catching liveries. The hoods have catchy slogans and sport weird but funny sponsor decal combinations.

Check out this great project called “I DRAW CARS”, it’s a great sketchbook/reference guide for people who are in to car design. The book contains guides, industry reference materials in a Moleskine like book. The project has already been successfully funded and just passed 400% funding! I’m definitely thinking about picking a book up for myself. Check out the website here.

1,200 Hot Wheels track

Nothing brings backs memories like Hot Wheels, these miniature cars were nothing short of awesome and the tracks I built for them were limited only by imagination. Chris Burden pretty much built the ultimate Hot Wheels track by building a massive track that houses 1,200 cars. Fully automated, the track is a new art installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. We need more art like this!

Oil & Water Do Not Mix posters

A simple yet powerful message, these limited edition posters are screen printed with oil from the Gulf of Mexico spill. The posters are limited to 200 pieces (not sure why, sell as much as you can!) for 150 euros, all benefits will be donated to Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. I love how the creator is using the actual oil from the spill to help aid in the clean up. The posters can be purchased here. Video of the process and some pictures after the jump.

Sharpies were the in thing, but looks like that’s about to change after this video came out. Talented graffiti artists Bam and Vogue apply their spray painting skills on a IS350 with impressive results. Rather then styling the car with a single theme, each half of the IS350 features the unique style of each artist. Thanks to Ill Motion for the heads up! Video after the jump.

Life size car prints

What’s the best way to make a print of your vehicle? If you cover it in paint, you can make a pretty decent copy of your car if you have a big enough piece of white fabric. As Sarah Illenberger demonstrates with her life size car prints, you can come up with some stellar results. At least you can take your car to the car wash after.
