I guess during their down time car manufactures love to flex their design know how in other fields like bicycles (cough Toyota cough). The Audi team designed every part of the bike including the pedals. Some of the more notable features of the bike is its carbon fiber frame, carbon fiber wheels (including spokes) and 2.3 kilo watt motor. As you can predict, the bike will set you back a hefty $20,000 if it were available on the market. Video and pictures after the jump.

Time sure flies, this year the Audi R8 celebrates its fifth year in production. It wasn’t that long ago that Audi entered the super car market with its original V8 R8, even till this day the body lines of the R8 look fresh. After 6 models, is Audi finally ready to release a successor to the famed car?

Audi has a rich history in a variety of motorsports, well known for changing the way people think of four wheel drive systems and taking the title as the first manufacture to win Le Mans with a diesel powered vehicle. Audi is now preparing to enter the Le Mans series with another first, a diesel hybrid dubbed the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro.

The infamous Group B designation was a class formed for the rallying world that contained the most dangerous cars in motorsports. Unlike other classes, Group B cars only required that the manufactures use a model that have 200 road ready units made. Chris Harris from Drive was lucky enough to drive two of these monsters, the Ford RS200 and the Audi Sport Quattro.

Well another Super Bowl is done and another team is crying but as usual car manufactures paid big bucks to show off their newest commercials. This year Automakers took a lot of the air time, most of which were great commercials. I tuned in to watch the super bowl but was pretty sad to see that most of US commercials were replaced with boring Canadian ones. Car lovers often name vehicles by their distinctive exhaust note as they drive by. These minute differences are often compared to musical instruments because of there complex nature (also why games have a hard time getting it right). Format67 releases their next video to see if they can blur the line between a musical symphony and a motor to the same tune.

I’m sure many of you have seen those amazing papercraft toys that have been circulating around the web. You can make almost anything, from your favorite car to your favorite video game character. Audi really wanted a papercraft toy of their new 2012 Audi A7, so they commissioned Taras Lesko to get the job done. Taras spent an amazing 245 hours creating 750 unique components for the model using 285 sheets of paper. The model is about 4 feet long and was on display at the 2011 New York Auto Show. Luckily for us Taras recorded those 245 hours of hard work and compressed it into a 3 minute video.

Found this really great page about about the Audi’s secret prototype that even the board of directors didn’t want to manufacture. A 1000 horse power, mid engined rocket ship built for Group S never went in to production due to changes in rally racing regulations. A member from the S2 forums found this great magazine article and scanned them for everyone to enjoy.
