Superbowl XLV wrapped up yesterday with the Green Bay packers taking home the championship against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you haven’t heard about the Superbowl it is the final championship game played in the National Football League in the USA. The Superbowl is easily the most popular/most-watched event on American television and is sometimes considered an American holiday. Due to its popularity,, commercial airtime is limited and extremely expensive. Because of the limited airtime and high cost, companies often focus on creating short memorable commercials. I’ve rounded up what I thought were the best car related commercials, so everyone could enjoy them. Videos after the jump.
Read More →I’ve seen this car’s journey from start to finish while working at Garage Works of an on for 5 years and now it’s time for this car to find it’s new owner. It originally started as a champagne coloured car, but slowly it was modified with a Hamann lip and dropped on 22″ rims. This car had always been one of our focal pieces at the shop, it had most of our products installed on it and it was an eye catcher. The biggest change is when we wrapped it in flat black vinyl, the changes were jaw dropping. Instead of a tame luxury coupe with big wheels, it transformed into a menacing angel eyed coupe with big wheels. This car definitely put Garage Works on the map, but unfortunately it was time to let go – the owner has put it up for sale on Avant Garde Motorsports. Luckily I was commissioned to take the photos used on Avant Garde.

You really get to know your car when you have to get down and dirty to fix issues that are bound to come up. This BMW owner however got really angry trying to boost his car and decided to vent on VWVortex, creating a very funny thread describing his ordeal getting to his battery. Quote of the post after the jump.

Looks like Will has been commissioned by the Need for Speed team to create a promotional video for their FIA GT3 entry, the BMW Z4 (which, by the way looks smokin). The video doesn’t contain too much action but consider it a teaser for things to come.

Read More →BMW has unveiled its’ latest “art car” to the public, using the BMW M3 GT2 as a blank canvas Jeff Koons has created an interesting piece of art. The design features bands of different colours creating a motion blur effect, the weird looking crumbs represent debris and the 2 rings on the back of the car represent the super sonic speed of the car. Overall the car looks great starting at the front but quickly turns into a mess when you start moving to the back! This is BMW’s 17th art car, you can check out the previous art cars here.
After a bit of research I found more info about the artist, Jeff who has a very interesting past: check out this NSFW article on Jaloponik.

Luckily the owner of the car documented nearly every process of the build, spanning 147 pages. The owner started building it in 2006 and the car still get’s updated regularly. View the build here.

Luckily he had an opening for some general help and some other work (more on that later). On the first day back the Garage Works crew were headed down to the Edmonton Garrison for a press conference that we were attending, so we brought down two cars and what two great cars they were. Pictures after the jump.
