After a rocky couple of years it looks like the tuning scene is starting to pick up again. In 2008 Trust filed for bankruptcy leaving the fate of the company and its US brand Greddy up in the air. Looks like things are going good because Trust/Greddy unveiled their highly tuned Nissan GT-R, fitted with the best of the best for R&D purposes.

What can only be described as crazy, Nissan wanted to see if they could transplant components of their famous GT-R into their less famous Juke. As you can imagine GT-R parts don’t fit well in the smaller Juke, Nissan dumped a boat load of money to get it to work. Throughout the process Nissan is releasing small videos about the conversion, so far only 5 are available but several pictures/sketches show a promising performance crossover.

You’ve probably seen this video floating around but I had to post it. Motor Trend decided to hold the greatest drag race using only the best cars in the world. The list: BMW 1M, Ford Mustang Boss 302, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Ferrari 458, Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 GT, Mercedes-Benz SLS, Lexus LF-A, Porsche Cayman R and the Lotus Evora S. I’ve been meaning to post the entire Depth of Speed series but I have always found myself distracted by hundreds of other things. Once I saw this video I knew I had to share it. If you haven’t heard of Depth of Speed, it is a 10 part mini series that Josh Clason is filming to helps other understand the history, passion and love that people have for the automotive industry. In his latest video, Josh revisits JDM Legends and learns why they love classic JDM cars. Eric from JDM Legends really hits the nail on the head when he describes current cars, they lack the character and personality of older Japanese cars.

It’s been awhile since Format67 released their last video but rest assure the team has been keeping busy with their latest project. Commissioned by Nissan, the team set out to produce a film about their perfect week with a GT-R. Using their trademark style, Format67 reminds us that we only have a limited amount of time in our life and we should spend every last second wisely.

Dragtimes.info, the people responsible for that crazy Veyron vs GT-R race are back again. This time the crew pits the R34 GT-R up against its bigger brother (although a modified one) the R35 GT-R. After race finishes, a highly modified ZR1 rolls in and decides to challenge another R35 GT-R that happens to be there. Loving the vibe of the video, reminds me of Tokyo Extreme Racer when you challenge one of Wanderers. Video after the jump.

As far as illegal races go, this is by far one of the best videos I’ve seen. Mostly because the camera man was smart enough to not stick the camera outside of the window causing a lot of wind noise. Upon further research the video was produced by a group in Russia called Dragtimes.info, their site has a lot more videos that I think everyone would like.

Love how the modified GT-R rolls up like a big brother coming to save his little brother…but still loses.
