XCAR releases a new video in the same theme as the 370Z vs 240Z I posted earlier in the month. This time around, XCAR pits the legendary BMW E30 M3 against its newest successor the BMW E92 M3 GTS. We find out just how well the aging E30 stands up against the powerful and technical E92 on a test ride.

First thing you’ll be wondering, what on earth is a BMW M2? Well there isn’t one but that’s what shop owner Marc Norris has dubbed his client’s BMW 2002. What started off as a restoration quickly turned into a full on overhaul for the 70′s vehicle. Norris ends up taking components from an E30 BMW M3 and cramming them into the little car. Creating a stellar driving experience in an old school body.

Clean E30 BMW M3s are pretty damn hard to find now a days but what about M3 convertibles? Pretty much non-existent but someone found one up for grabs in New Jersey on Craigslist. Apparently 1 of only 5 in the United States, this rare example is listed for $60,000! View the listing here.

Grand Theft Auto: RISE is a short live action video produced by Gevorg Karensky based on GTA. The video follows the birth of an underground hero, not you’re typical kind though. If you’re a fan of the game series you’ll quickly grasp the back story, if not just sit down and enjoy the video. Of course it also has a nice car chase with a BMW M3 in it.

The new BMW M3 is already competent car but it didn’t stop VF Engineering from tuning the car. TUNED traveled to California to take a look a newly tuned BMW M3. Sporting a powerful Vortech super charger (similar to the 370Z TUNED reviewed) and other lovely after market bits it produces a whopping 690 horsepower.

In this episode, the Top Gear crew come up with an ingenious solution to convert combine harvesters into a snow plows at a flick of a switch. Clarkson drives the newest revision of the BMW M3, with the competition package. Not to be biased Clarkson then drives the Audi RS5 and see how it compares to the M3. Now even your kids can have their own BMW with this M3 GT2 toy car. Unlike the real thing, this version can be powered by a pedal or an electric motor. Don’t expect too much speed from the latter, as the top speed is a measly 2.5 km/h. Bigger picture after the jump.

Caught wind of this post from JDMST, the guys at IND in Texas posted up their E92 M3 build for one of their clients. Judging by the caliber of parts and the attention to detail, no expense was spared. IND took a fresh E92 M3 (20 miles fresh) and stripped it down for a custom “Atlantis Metallic” paint job which is reminiscent of the E46 M3 “Laguna Seca Blue” colour. Of course once the car was stripped down, IND added some other goodies like one of kind carbon fiber door panels by Ericsson, BBS FI wheels, and a super charger from ESS Tuning. I can’t wait to see how the build turns out, check it out here.
