Another great Superbowl wrapped up this past Sunday and while I won’t ruin the results for anyone who missed it (close game!) here is a nice summary of car related commercials that were featured in the Superbowl this year. Please note I’m not from the USA so I didn’t actually see these commercials on air so let me know if I missed out on any! My favorite would have to be the Volkswagen one!

You may know AMG as Mercedes Benz’ crazy tuning arm responsible for stuffing V12′s in cars but this holiday season AMG focused their ingenuity on something more traditional.

As a teaser for the upcoming revision of the popular Mercedes-Benz S class, Mercedes-Benz created a sculpture with the new body lines of the 2013 model. Using projection mapping (much like this Reventon) Mercedes-Benz reveals the history of the S class and how the new S class came to life.

You may have remembered MotorTrend’s last drag race, this year they held another drag race featuring a Lamborghini Aventador, Nissan GT-R Black Edition, Ford Shelby GT500, McLaren MP4-12C, Jaguar XKR-S, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Subaru BRZ, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Obviously the BRZ is going to win but watch for yourself after the jump.

Thought your road trip was epic? Well check out Gunther Holtorf who started his road trip his wife Christine 23 years ago in Africa. Gunther relied on his Mercedes Benz G wagon (accumulating over 500,000 miles) traveling across countries while documenting his trip with two traditional film cameras.

Mercedes Benz recently set a new world record for “farthest golf shot caught in a moving car” (can’t beleive this exists) using the powerful SLS roadster as their car of choice. Formula 1 driver David Coulthard and pro-golfer Jake Shepherd team up for the record attempt. David Coulthard was able to catch the ball 275 meters away from the tee.

The Mercedes Benz G sounds like a pointless SUV on paper, well that’s because it is. That didn’t stop AMG from tinkering with the long-lasting model, dropping the popular V8 engine found in the SL63 and E63. Chris Harris from Drive reviews the car but struggles to understand why someone would need a car like this.

The 300SL is one of the most iconic cars in the world and it caught the eye of many youngsters. That’s what exactly happened with this owner, taking over 30 years of hard work he eventually bought one for himself. Unlike other owners, he drives the car often through various and through any weather.

When Mercedes Benz wanted to promote their brand new fuel cell technology to the world they decided to think different. They covered their car in LED’s and placed a camera on the other side to project a real time image, essentially making it look invisible. Ingenious!

Hammond supervises Toni Gardemeister as he races a Skoda Fabia Super 2000 against jet powered flying man. Jeremy Clarkson then compares two street race cars, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and the Mercedes Benz C63 Black.
