I always say that cars aren’t like they used to but we all know that increased regulations and safety requirements have changed the ways manufactures build cars now. Motor Trend compares a project 370Z with its original predecessor the Datsun 240Z. Not just any 240Z though – this fine example sports a RB26 transplant front a Nissan Skyline.

The Calsonic Skyline GT-R is one of the most iconic touring cars of all time. The R32, built to compete in Group A touring car series dominated most of the races it entered. Racing series Gran Turismo helped expose the Calsonic Skyline to western audiences with its blue and white livery.

We’ve all seen the kit in photos but now we have a nice little clip from Maiham Media of an infamous Bensopra kitted Nissan GT-R. Bensopra shocked the tuner scene when they first teased their GT-R kit renders online and debuted the wild kit at last years Tokyo Autosalon show.

XCAR visits Endless to see how they put their 1200 HP Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) Together. The car retains a twin turbo set up while upping the displacement to 2.7 litres. The standard gearbox was swapped out in favor of a sequential box and completes a quarter-mile in 9 seconds flat.

You may have seen this car around, sporting a military inspired paint job the car pretty much looks like a tank. The owner of the vehicle is Sataomi Naakawatase and as you can tell loves military styling of planes and tanks. The car features TRA Kyoto Rocket Bunny aero parts and Mickey Thompson wheels. I don’t usually like to blog about videos like this but this was just too comedic. A driver of a Nissan Maxima finds himself in a pretty bad situation, thinking on his feet he guns it. Unfortunately for him the car didn’t make it very far and crashes into a pole. What to do next? Light one up of course.

Nissan releases a sweet video highlighting the Skyline legacy from the beginning. The first Skyline would make its debut 1964 at the Japan Grand Prix. Although the Skyline didn’t beat its rival Porsche 904, the car would spark the interest of many spectators.

Toy company Takara is back with their Alternity line of Transformer toys, this time collaborating with Super GT race series to release “updated” version of their Nissan GT-R (R35) transformer in two liveries. The two liveries just happened to be two of my favorites: the Motul scheme and the Calsonic scheme. Unfortunately there aren’t any good pictures of the toys but I did find a shop that are taking pre-orders for a whopping $115 USD + shipping. Still it beats getting a Misuoka Orochi transformer.

After many tests with the butt ugly but scary fast Juke R experiment, Nissan is on track to release a full production run of these cars in 2013. Nissan recently finished work on their first production model for a customer in the UK who was willing to drop a whopping 500,000 euros on the car.
