New York Trip Part 1

So I finally found some spare time to sit down and blog about my trip to NYC, overall a great trip and an eye opener. Living in a small city like Edmonton really makes me feel like I’m missing out on a lot of experiences that bigger cities offer.

New York City is almost overwhelmingly busy, full of city natives and just as many tourists. Much like the people living in the city every building, restaurant and neighborhood is unique in their own little way. Seeing so many people focused on making a buck is inspiring.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking now, I feel as if I had hardly scratched the surface during my trip but I loved every second of it.

Random pic: Hot Celica GT

I saw this on Farm of Minds and I knew I had to share this with everyone. Here are some pictures of Dylan’s Toyota Celica GT, it really makes you wonder what the hell Toyota was thinking when they decided to make the latest generation Celica. Apparently the vehicle was up for grabs and someone snatched it up for a mere $9,000!

Edmonton Motorshow 2011: Lexus LF-A

With every year you can always expect another Edmonton Motorshow, a car show where the dealerships bring their new cars to impress potential customers. For the most part the cars are things you would normally see on the road with an exception of a few high end cars. I didn’t really care for many of the vehicles except for the Lexus LF-A. Upgrade time: Nikon D7000

Shortly after picking up my new lens, I went on a hunt for a new camera. Originally I had my eyes set on a Nikon D90 but since Nikon recently announced the D7000, I went with that instead. The main reason that I wanted the D7000 was because of its low light performance which I [...]

Hardware upgrades – Mac Pro

One of the best things I ever did was switch over to Mac, everything is just easier! Two Years ago I purchased a Macbook Pro for school and I was extremely satisfied with the way it works. However, as reliable as it was, I had to upgrade my gear. Instead of upgrading to a new laptop, I decided to order a desktop computer since you can get a better computer for the same price range. The iMac wasn’t even a consideration since it sported a glossy screen. More after the jump.

Stretch – Spotted in Australia

Joseph Hui spotted one of my shirts in Australia recently, having his trusty DSLR – Joseph took a quick snap for me. Luckily the shirt matched the car in the picture as well!.Thanks for the picture Joseph, be sure to check out Joseph’s other pictures (a lot of great automotive pictures of course) on his Flickr page. If you’re wondering what shirt the model is wearing he’s sporting the Old School shirt.

Revamped, restored classic – Singer Porsche 911

Singer Vehicle Design is a small company that takes pre-1994 Porsche bodies and rebuilds them to OEM standards. Not only are the cars rebuilt from the ground up, they can also be customized with options to fit the customers needs. Being my all time favorite generation of the 911, these pictures not only capture the beauty of classic 911 shapes but also highlight Singer’s amazing attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Intel Visual Life – The Sartorialist

As part of my daily ritual, I love to read various blogs & websites to get inspiration. One of my favorite blogs, The Sartorialist, is a photo blog that contains pictures of fashionable people in various trendy cities. What I love about this blog is that the models are just ordinary people on the streets who have a unique sense of style. Scott Schumann runs The Sartorialist which over the past couple of years has seen tremendous growth and he even has a book (which I own) containing many pictures that you can find on his website. Intel has created a short video about Scott Schumann thoughts and passion about the industry. Video after the jump.
