Black on black LP640

I shot this car earlier in September, I went out to do another photo shoot with the LP640 roadster after we mounted these massive Klassen wheels on. This car was an absolute pleasure to shoot, the lighting was just right – casting a nice horizon. It was very difficult to shoot the car since the wheels were black and had so much dish, most of the wheel highlights were done in post production. Pictures after the jump.

The new supercar in town

Avant Garde Motorsports took delivery of this Lamborghini LP640 Roadster last week and after trying to figure out how to put together the ridiculous soft top, we quickly dismantled it and headed out for a quick photo shoot for the website. Having already shot the hard top version already, I wasn’t sure what to expect with the roadster version of the LP640. The difference: aural pleasure, the engine noise was intensified with no roof.

Turns out that long time customer Reggie, purchased the car that was actually used on the shirt so he was almost obligated to purchase the shirt! The “cost is no object” roadster

t’s not often that we see cars built like this, especially ones where you hear “cost is no object”. The team at Kirkham Motorsports were told exactly that when Larry Ellison (CEO of Oracle) approached them to build the ultimate roadster. This car built is different though, the frame was machined from billet aluminum while the body panels were hand crafted using traditional methods. The body is based on the AC Cobra and packs a 7.9L engine. Check out site here to view the extensive build.
