Painting coconuts

New details have emerged including an in-depth behind the scenes video of the slot car track created for Audi Canada I posted last October. This video follows David Beattle, owner of Slot Mods USA who was in charge of building the elaborate track for Audi. I especially enjoyed the in-depth look at the craftsmanship of every little piece of the track including the thought process behind it. The hidden Quattro in the shed was also a great “car aficionado” easter egg. View the original slot car video here.

Electric Lamborghini LP670 SV

Looking for that last minute gift for that little racer? I found this pretty sweet Lamborghini LP670 SV toy that might be what you had in mind. Powered by an electric motor, this car is able to reach a top speed of about 2.5 kph depending on the drivers weight. The vehicle also comes with working LED headlights and horn. Perhaps a street race is in order with the BMW M3 car I posted a couple of years back?

Alternity Super GT GT-R Transformers

Unfortunately there aren’t any good pictures of the toys but I did find a shop that are taking pre-orders for a whopping $115 USD + shipping. Still it beats getting a Misuoka Orochi transformer.

Leave it up to the Japanese to create a homemade Transformer that actually transforms! Obviously no small feat, the robot is able to drive, transform, walk and dance. What’s more surprising is that the creator wasn’t able to upload a high quality version than 360p…

R/C car that goes 100 mph easily

Hitting 100 mph isn’t an easy feat for some cars but this little RC car is capable of just that. Traxxas makes the electric XO-1 and comes fully assembled right out of the box. Unfortunately it costs $1,100 and requires the use of an iPod or iPhone to unlock its top speed. It’s embarrassing to think this RC is more capable than half of the cars I see on Edmonton’s streets.
