Easily the best replica of Shotaro’s bike from Akira, Masahi Teshim painstakingly built this one over the course of seven years. This replica is apparently the only bike that has the official blessing of Akira’s creator Katsuhiro Otomo, I would hope so since the owner spent nearly $120,000 on it. Masashi is currently riding the bike around Japan to raise money for children’s autism, afterwards it will be on display to help raise money for victims from last years earthquake.

Meet the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 a highly modified GT-R spec’d out to meet FIA’s GT3 regulations. The GT-R is powered by a 3.8 liter V6 twin turbo engine based on the standard road version. Apparently the vehicle was designed with customers in mind…that’s right you can actually buy one for a cool 297,000 euros.

During the unveiling of the GT-86 at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show Toyota design chief Dezi Nagaya filmed a detail behind the scenes about designing the GT-86. The video is split into four parts: 2000GT heritage, exterior design, interior design and the 86 logo. Chief engineer Tetsuya Tada also give viewers an exclusive interview about the upcoming car.

I guess superheros aren’t immune to traffic laws after all, cops pulled over Batman last week for driving his Lamborghini Gallardo with no plates (well actually a Batman logo). The cops were a bit confused and worried when they saw Batman was the driver, apparently he was on his way to a children’s hospital for an appearance. Nice to see rich guys having fun!

Meet Frank Profera, a shop owner who’s obsessed with making his Lotus the fastest accelerating car. Weighing in at only 2,150 lbs, the Lotus packs a rally inspired twin charged 1.8 liter engine that produces 680 horsepower. Unlike other shops that produce high powered cars, this Lotus was produced in a small shop in California.

Chinese driver Li Yatao completed the largest loop the loop in a car on September 2011. The loop measures 12.87 meter in diameter, the world record attempt was held in Shanghai – Li Yatao used a car made by Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Co (yikes!).
