Lexus Structural Blue: The Bluest Paint
Inspired by the intense blue wings of the Morpho butterfly, Lexus set out to create the bluest paint for their newly released LC. The new paint called Structural Blue is created using several layers of colourless paint that create the illusion of blue through light interference. Making the paint isn’t easy, the entire is so intense that it takes 8 months to create enough paint for 300 Lexus LCs and involves 12 different production steps.
