Chasing a photo shoot

Chasing a photo shoot

After finally launching Series 7 I can finally say I’m done! One of the hardest things I’ve done is organizing a photo shoot for my brand, it might seem simple at first but trying to coordinate several people can be chaotic and a lot of things can go wrong. This year I decided to work with Ashley Vee for the new series and what ended up happening is our original shoot had to be canceled because Canadian borders wouldn’t allow her to pass through without a Visa. Well shit, what now? Head to San Francisco!

So after leaving Vancouver empty-handed and dumb founded I planned out another shoot in San Francisco with an entirely new team. I headed down with my friend Albert and everything seemed peachy until we started heading down to the location.

FOG, lots of it. Not only did the fog kill the lighting, the winds picked up to 50 km/hr making our shoot really tough and destroyed Ashley’s hair. We eventually finished the shoot but everyone was feeling tired and frozen afterwards. The shoot still turned out great but we all know it could have been a lot better if the weather cooperated.

We had an extra night in San Francisco so we did a fast tour of the various places in SF, first up was Chinatown where we got some breakfast and checked out the stores.

Lombard Street the famous twisty road consisting of 8 hairpin turns. Traffic was awful and yes you can drive on it if you really want.

Alamo Square, featured in Full House’s opening scene!

Of course I had to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, I was shocked at just how big the bridge was. It’s really hard to imagine how they were able to build this in 1937.

Didn’t have time for Alcatraz but I’ll be back in SF with my girlfriend in two weeks and I’ll be heading there.

While we didn’t have much time to enjoy San Francisco, every place we tried out for food was pretty amazing. We tried out this random tacqueria and it was the best taco I had in my life. Red Cray Fish was another awesome place we tried out but melted our lips because it was so spicy but make sure to try it out if you are in SF.
